Functions of a Real Variable, chapter IV, § 1. EXISTENCE THEOREMS

When E=RE = \mathbf{R} and HH is an interval in R\mathbf{R}, if the function f(t,x)f(t, x) admits a partial derivative fx′f'_x (II, p. 74) at every point (t,x)(t, x) of I×HI \times H, such that ∣fx′(t,x)∣≤k(t)|f'_x(t, x)| \leq k(t) on I×HI \times H, then condition (8) is satisfied, by the mean value theorem; we shall see later how this example generalizes to the case where EE is an arbitrary normed space.

If ff is Lipschitz on I×HI \times H then ff is bounded on J×SJ \times S for every compact subinterval J⊂IJ \subset I and every open ball S⊂HS \subset H. Thus prop. 3 (IV, p. 166) can be applied, and demonstrates the existence of approximate solutions of equation (1). But we also have the following proposition, which allows us to compare two approximate solutions:

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
