Functions of a Real Variable, chapter V, Appendix 0. Hardy Fields. (H) Functions

If yy is a function in K\mathfrak{K}, not identically zero on a neighbourhood of +∞+\infty, then K(log⁡∣y∣)\mathfrak{K}(\log|y|) is a Hardy field.

Indeed, (log⁡∣y∣)′=y′/y(\log|y|)' = y'/y is equal to a function in K\mathfrak{K} on an interval [x0,+∞[[ x_0, +\infty[.

COROLLARY 2 If yy is any function in K\mathfrak{K}, then K(ey)\mathfrak{K}(e^y) is a Hardy field.

Indeed, (ey)′=eyy′(e^y)' = e^y y', and y′y' is equal to a function in K\mathfrak{K} on an interval [x0,+∞[[ x_0, +\infty[.

COROLLARY 3 If K\mathfrak{K} contains the real constants, and if yy is a function in K\mathfrak{K}, not identically zero on a neighbourhood of +∞+\infty, then K(∣y∣α)\mathfrak{K}(|y|^{\alpha}) is a Hardy field for every real number α\alpha.

Indeed, ddx(∣y∣α)=∣y∣α(αy′/y)\frac{d}{dx}(|y|^{\alpha}) = |y|^{\alpha} (\alpha y'/y), and αy′/y\alpha y'/y is equal to a function in K\mathfrak{K} on an interval [x0,+∞[[ x_0, +\infty[.

Finally, we note that if yy is the primitive of any function in K\mathfrak{K} then K(y)\mathfrak{K}(y) is again a Hardy field.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
