Integration, chapter III, § 2. Support of a measure

— Let μ\mu be a positive measure on XX; if ff is a function in K+(X)\mathscr{K}_+(X) such that μ(f)=0\mu(f) = 0, then ff is zero on Supp(μ)\mathrm{Supp}(\mu).

Let xx be a point of XX such that f(x)>0f(x) > 0; let us show that xx does not belong to Supp(μ)\mathrm{Supp}(\mu). For, there exist a compact neighborhood VV of xx and a number a>0a > 0 such that f(y)≥af(y) \geq a on VV. If gg is any continuous function ≥0\geq 0 with support contained in VV, let us show that μ(g)=0\mu(g) = 0; indeed, if one sets b=∥g∥b = \|g\| then g≤bf/ag \leq bf/a, whence μ(g)≤bμ(f)/a=0\mu(g) \leq b\mu(f)/a = 0.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
