Integration, chapter IV, § 3. LP spaces

— For a numerical function ff to belong to Lp\mathscr{L}^p, it is necessary and sufficient that each of the functions f+f^+ and f−f^- belong to Lp\mathscr{L}^p.

The condition is sufficient since f=f+−f−f = f^+ - f^-; it is necessary, because if f∈Lpf \in \mathscr{L}^p then ∣f∣∈Lp|f| \in \mathscr{L}^p (Prop. 11).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
