Integration, chapter V, § 3. Integration of positive measures
— Let be a mapping of T into , such that the function is universally measurable and locally bounded in T for every . One can affirm that is a diffusion in each of the following cases:
a) the topology of X admits a countable base; b) Λ is universally measurable for the vague topology.
For, let be a positive measure on with compact support; the mapping is scalarly essentially -integrable, hence -adequate if either a) or b) is satisfied (No. 1, Prop. 2).
For the rest of this section, we shall adopt the following notations: we will denote by the upper essential integral, for a positive measure , of a positive -measurable function . The mapping will be a diffusion of in . If is a positive universally measurable function defined on , we shall denote by the mapping . If is a positive measure on such that is scalarly essentially -integrable, we shall denote by the measure . The definition of the integral then takes the form
We shall say that a positive measure on belongs to the domain of if is -adequate: this amounts to saying (in view of Prop. 8) that is scalarly essentially -integrable and for every positive measure and every lower semi-continuous positive function .
Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
