Integration, chapter VII, § 1. Construction of a Haar measure

Let GG be a locally compact group, μ\mu a relatively left-invariant measure on GG with multiplier χ\chi. If χ1\chi_1 is a continuous representation of GG in C∗\mathbf{C}^*, the measure χ1⋅μ\chi_1 \cdot \mu is relatively left-invariant with multiplier χ1χ\chi_1 \chi.

For,

γ(s)(χ1⋅μ)=(γ(s)χ1)⋅(γ(s)μ)=(χ1(s−1)χ1)⋅(χ(s)−1μ)=(χ1χ)(s)−1(χ1⋅μ). \gamma(s)(\chi_1 \cdot \mu) = (\gamma(s)\chi_1) \cdot (\gamma(s)\mu) = (\chi_1(s^{-1})\chi_1) \cdot (\chi(s)^{-1}\mu) = (\chi_1 \chi)(s)^{-1}(\chi_1 \cdot \mu).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
