Integration, chapter IX, § 2. Operations on measures

— If λ\lambda and μ\mu are measures, then ν\nu is a measure.

For, let x=(s,t)x = (s, t) be a point of XX, and let UU and VV be neighborhoods of s,ts, t respectively, such that λ∙(U)<+∞\lambda^\bullet(U) < +\infty, μ∙(V)<+∞\mu^\bullet(V) < +\infty; the set U×VU \times V is a neighborhood of xx, and ν∙(U×V)=λ∙(U)μ∙(V)<+∞\nu^\bullet(U \times V) = \lambda^\bullet(U)\mu^\bullet(V) < +\infty by (4); the encumbrance ν∙\nu^\bullet is thus locally bounded, and the premeasure ν\nu is a measure.

This result extends at once to complex measures.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
