Integration, IX, p. 82, § 6. Promeasures and measures on a locally convex space

Let E be a locally convex space and μ\mu a promeasure on E. Suppose that x′(μ)x'(\mu) is a Gaussian measure on R\mathbf{R} for every x′∈E′x' \in E'. Then μ\mu is a Gaussian promeasure on E.

For every x′∈E′x' \in E', let Q(x′)Q(x') be the variance of the Gaussian measure x′(μ)x'(\mu) on R\mathbf{R}. One has x′(μ)=γQ(x′)x'(\mu) = \gamma_{Q(x')}, whence

(Fμ)(x′)=∫Reit⋅1dγQ(x′)(t)=e−Q(x′)⋅12/2 (\mathscr{F}\mu)(x') = \int_{\mathbf{R}} e^{it \cdot 1} d\gamma_{Q(x')}(t) = e^{-Q(x') \cdot 1^2 / 2}
by the definition of Fμ\mathscr{F}\mu (No. 3, formula (2)). In other words, Fμ=e−Q/2\mathscr{F}\mu = e^{-Q/2}, and it remains to prove that QQ is a positive quadratic form on E′E'.

For every closed linear subspace V of E with finite codimension, denote by pVp_V the canonical mapping of E onto E/VE/V, by μV\mu_V the measure pV(μ)p_V(\mu) on E/VE/V, and set QV=Q∘tpVQ_V = Q \circ {}^t p_V. Since E′=⋃V∈F(E)Im⁡(tpV)E' = \bigcup_{V \in \mathscr{F}(E)} \operatorname{Im}({}^t p_V) and tpV{}^t p_V is injective, it suffices to prove that QVQ_V is a positive quadratic form on (E/V)′(E/V)'. Let u∈(E/V)′u \in (E/V)' and x′=tpV(u)x' = {}^t p_V(u). We have

u(μV)=u(pV(μ))=x′(μ)=γQ(x′); u(\mu_V) = u(p_V(\mu)) = x'(\mu) = \gamma_{Q(x')} ;
Prop. 6 then implies
QV(u)=Q(x′)=∫Rt2dγQ(x′)(t)=∫E/Vu(x)2dμV(x), Q_V(u) = Q(x') = \int_{\mathbf{R}} t^2 d\gamma_{Q(x')}(t) = \int_{E/V} u(x)^2 d\mu_V(x),
thus QVQ_V is a positive quadratic form on (E/V)′(E/V)'.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
