Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter III, § 6. Real and complex Lie groups

*Let G be a Lie group and L=L(G)L = L(G). For all x∈Lx \in L, let Tx(L)T_x(L) be identified with LL, so that the right differential ϖ(x)\varpi(x) of exp⁡\exp at xx is a linear mapping of LL into LL. For all x∈Lx \in L,

ϖ(x)=∑n⩾01(n+1)!(ad x)n. \varpi(x) = \sum_{n \geqslant 0} \frac{1}{(n + 1)!} (\mathrm{ad}\ x)^n.

The two sides are analytic functions of xx and are equal for xx sufficiently close to 0 (§ 4, no. 3, Proposition 6).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
