Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter III, § 9. Commutators, centralizers and normalizers in a Lie group

Let GG be a finite-dimensional real or complex Lie group, gg its Lie algebra and AA a subset of GG. Then ZG(A)Z_G(A) is a Lie subgroup of GG with Lie algebra zg(A)\mathfrak{z}_g(A).

Suppose that AA consists of a single point aa. Then ZG(A)Z_G(A) is the set of fixed points of Int a\mathrm{Int}\, a; hence ZG(A)Z_G(A) is a Lie subgroup of GG and L(ZG(A))\mathbf{L}(Z_G(A)) is the set of fixed points of Ad a\mathrm{Ad}\, a, that is zg(A)\mathfrak{z}_g(A) (§ 3, no. 8, Corollary 1 to Proposition 29). The general case follows by means of § 6, no. 2, Corollary 3 to Proposition 1.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
