Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter III, § 9. Commutators, centralizers and normalizers in a Lie group

Suppose that K=RK = R or CC. Let G1,G2G_1, G_2 be finite-dimensional connected Lie groups and R1R_1 and R2R_2 their radicals. The radical of G1×G2G_1 \times G_2 is R1×R2R_1 \times R_2.

This follows from Chapter I, §5§ 5, Proposition 4.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
