Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter III, § 9. Commutators, centralizers and normalizers in a Lie group

Let G be a finite-dimensional complex Lie group whose number of connected components is finite, φ\varphi a finite-dimensional analytic linear representation of G and G′G' an integral subgroup of the real Lie group G such that L(G′)L(G') generates L(G)L(G) over C\mathbf{C}. Then, for φ\varphi to be semi-simple, it is necessary and sufficient that φ∣G′\varphi|G' be semi-simple.

Let φ′=φ∣G′\varphi' = \varphi|G'. For φ\varphi (resp. φ′\varphi') to be semi-simple, it is necessary and sufficient that L(φ)L(\varphi) (resp. L(φ′)L(\varphi')) be semi-simple (Theorem 1). Let V be the space of φ\varphi. For a vector subspace of V to be stable under L(φ)(L(G))L(\varphi)(L(G)), it is necessary and sufficient that it be stable under L(φ′)(L(G′))L(\varphi')(L(G')). Hence the proposition.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
