General Topology, chapter I, § 2. Continuous functions

1) If f:X→X′f : X \to X' and g:X′→X′′g : X' \to X'' are two continuous mappings, then g∘f:X→X′′g \circ f : X \to X'' is continuous.

2) For a bijection ff of a topological space XX onto a topological space X′X' to be a homeomorphism, it is necessary and sufficient that ff and the inverse of ff are continuous (or, as is also said, that ff is bicontinuous).

The first assertion is an immediate consequence of Proposition 2; the second follows from Theorem 1, d) and the definition of a homeomorphism (§ 1, no. 1).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
