General Topology, chapter I, § 4. Product of topological spaces

Let XX be a set, (Yi)i∈I(Y_i)_{i \in I} a family of topological spaces, and for each i∈Ii \in I let fif_i be a mapping of XX into YiY_i. Let ff be the mapping x→(fi(x))x \to (f_i(x)) of XX into Y=∏i∈IYiY = \prod_{i \in I} Y_i, and let T\mathfrak{T} be the coarsest topology on XX for which the mappings fif_i are continuous. Then T\mathfrak{T} is the inverse image under ff of the topology induced on f(X)f(X) by the product topology on YY.

This is another particular case of transitivity of initial topologies (\S\ 2, no. 3, Proposition 5; cf. Set Theory, Chapter IV, \S\ 2, no. 4, criterion CST 15).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
