General Topology, chapter I, § 4. Product of topological spaces

Let X1,X2,YX_1, X_2, Y be three topological spaces, ff a mapping of the product space X1×X2X_1 \times X_2 into YY. If ff is continuous at the point (a1,a2)(a_1, a_2) then the partial mapping x2→f(a1,x2)x_2 \to f(a_1, x_2) of X2X_2 into YY is continuous at the point a2a_2.

For this mapping is the composition of ff and the mapping x2→(a1,x2)x_2 \to (a_1, x_2); hence the result follows from Proposition 4.

Proposition 6 is often expressed by saying that a continuous function of two variables is continuous with respect to each of them separately.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
