General Topology, chapter I, § 8. Hausdorff spaces and regular spaces

Let (xi)1≤i≤n(x_i)_{1 \leq i \leq n} be a finite family of distinct points of a Hausdorff space XX; then each xix_i has a neighbourhood ViV_i in XX such that the ViV_i (1≤i≤n1 \leq i \leq n) are mutually disjoint.

The proof is by induction on nn: the case n=2n = 2 is just the axiom (H). Let then WiW_i (1≤i≤n−11 \leq i \leq n - 1) be a neighbourhood of xix_i such that the WiW_i are mutually disjoint. On the other hand, for 1≤i≤n−11 \leq i \leq n - 1 there is a neighbourhood TiT_i of xix_i and a neighbourhood UiU_i of xnx_n which do not intersect. If we take ViV_i to be Wi∩TiW_i \cap T_i for 1≤i≤n−11 \leq i \leq n - 1 and

Vn=⋂i=1n−1Ui, V_n = \bigcap_{i=1}^{n-1} U_i,
the conditions of the proposition are satisfied.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
