General Topology, chapter I, § 9. Compact spaces and locally compact spaces

In a topological space XX, let (xn)n∈N(x_n)_{n \in \mathbf{N}} be an infinite sequence of points which converges to a point aa; then the set AA consisting of the points xnx_n (n∈Nn \in \mathbf{N}) and aa is quasi-compact. For if (Ui)(U_i) is a covering of AA by open sets of XX, then a∈Uxa \in U_x for some index xx. UxU_x is a neighbourhood of aa and therefore there is only a finite number of indices nkn_k such that xnk∉Uxx_{n_k} \notin U_x. For each index kk let iki_k be an index such that xnk∈Uikx_{n_k} \in U_{i_k}; then UxU_x and the UikU_{i_k} form a finite open covering of AA.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
