General Topology, chapter I, § 11. Connectedness

In any topological space, the empty set and every set consisting of a single point are connected. In a Hausdorff space XX, every finite set consisting of more than one point is not connected, and more generally every subset of XX which has more than one point and which has at least one isolated point is not connected.

If a dense subset AA is connected, then the whole space XX is connected; otherwise there would exist two non-empty disjoint open subsets M,NM, N of XX such that M∪N=XM \cup N = X, and M∩A,N∩AM \cap A, N \cap A would be two disjoint non-empty open subsets of AA whose union is AA. Hence we have

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
