General Topology, chapter I, § 11. Connectedness

In a product space X=∏i∈JXiX = \prod_{i \in J} X_i, the component of x=(xi)x = (x_i) in XX is the product of the components of xix_i in the factors XiX_i.

This product set is connected (no. 4, Proposition 8). Conversely, if AA is a connected subset of XX which contains xx, then pr⁡i(A)\operatorname{pr}_i(A) is a connected set (no. 2, Proposition 4) which contains xx; since A⊂∏ipr⁡i(A)A \subset \prod_i \operatorname{pr}_i(A), it follows that AA is contained in the product of the components of the xix_i.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
