General Topology, chapter II, § 2. Uniformly continuous functions

A family (Ui)(\mathfrak{U}_i) of uniformities on XX also has a greatest lower bound in the ordered set of all uniformities on XX, namely the least upper bound of the set of all uniformities on XX which are coarser than each of the Ui\mathfrak{U}_i (such uniformities exist, since the set of all uniformities on XX has a least element). But (supposing XX not empty) the filter of entourages of this uniformity is not necessarily the intersection of the filters of entourages of the Ui\mathfrak{U}_i, because this latter filter need not satisfy axiom (UIII)(U_{III}) (Exercise 4).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
