General Topology, chapter II, § 2. Uniformly continuous functions

For each i∈Ii \in I, let AiA_i be a subspace of YiY_i. Then the uniformity induced on A=∏i∈IAiA = \prod_{i \in I} A_i by the product uniformity on ∏i∈IYi\prod_{i \in I} Y_i is the same as the product of the uniformities of the subspaces AiA_i.

In addition, we see immediately that if X1,X2X_1, X_2 are two uniform spaces and a1a_1 is any point of X1X_1, the mapping x2→(a1,x2)x_2 \to (a_1, x_2) is an isomorphism of X2X_2 onto the subspace {a1}×X2\{a_1\} \times X_2 of X1×X2X_1 \times X_2; hence:

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
