General Topology, chapter III, § 1. Topologies on groups

A topological group GG is Hausdorff if and only if the intersection of the neighbourhoods of ee consists only of the point ee.

The condition is clearly necessary. Conversely, if the intersection of all the neighbourhoods of ee is just {e}\{e\}, then given any x≠ex \neq e there is a neighbourhood VV of ee such that x−1∉Vx^{-1} \notin V and therefore e∉xVe \notin xV. This shows that xx is not in the closure of {e}\{e\}, and thus {e}\{e\} is closed, so that GG is Hausdorff.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
