General Topology, chapter III, § 3. Uniform structures on groups

A Hausdorff topological group GG is isomorphic to a dense subgroup of a complete group G^\hat{G} if and only if the image, under the symmetry x→x−1x \to x^{-1}, of a Cauchy filter with respect to the right uniformity of GG is a Cauchy filter with respect to this uniformity. The complete group G^\hat{G} (which is called the completion of GG) is then unique (up to isomorphism).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
