General Topology, chapter III, § 5. Infinite sums in commutative groups

Let G=∏λ∈LGλG = \prod_{\lambda \in L} G_\lambda be the product of a family of Hausdorff commutative groups. Then a family (xi)i∈I(x_i)_{i \in I} of points of GG is summable if and only if, for each λ∈L\lambda \in L, the family (prλxi)i∈I(\mathrm{pr}_\lambda x_i)_{i \in I} is summable; and if sλs_\lambda is the sum of this family, then s=(sλ)s = (s_\lambda) is the sum of the family (xi)(x_i).

This follows immediately from the condition for convergence, with respect to a filter, of a function which takes its values in a product space (Chapter I, § 1, no. 6, Corollary 1 to Proposition 10); in effect, for each finite subset JJ of II, we have

prλ(∑i∈Jxi)=∑i∈Jprλxi. \mathrm{pr}_\lambda \left( \sum_{i \in J} x_i \right) = \sum_{i \in J} \mathrm{pr}_\lambda x_i.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
