General Topology, chapter VIII, § 1. Complex numbers, quaternions

The multiplicative group H∗\mathbf{H}^* of non-zero quaternions is a topological group isomorphic to the product of its subgroups R+∗\mathbf{R}_+^* and S3S_3.

Every quaternion x/ox / o can be written as x⋅zx \cdot z where zz is a quaternion with norm 1; since ∥xx′∥=∥x∥⋅∥x′∥\|xx'\| = \|x\|\cdot\|x'\|, the mapping x→(∥x∥,x1,x2)x \to (\|x\|, x_1, x_2) of H∗H^* onto R+∗×S2\mathbf{R}_+^* \times S_2 is an isomorphism of the group structures, and from Chapter VI, § 2, no. 2, Proposition 2, it is a homomorphism of H∗H^* onto R+∗×S2\mathbf{R}_+^* \times S_2.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
