General Topology, chapter VI, § 2. Euclidean distance, balls and spheres

Every nn-dimensional open ball is homeomorphic to Rn\mathbf{R}^n.

For the mapping x→x1+∣∣x∣∣x \to \frac{x}{1 + ||x||} is continuous on Rn\mathbf{R}^n and maps Rn\mathbf{R}^n onto the open ball with centre oo and radius 11; moreover, from y=x1+∣∣x∣∣y = \frac{x}{1 + ||x||} we deduce x=y1−∣∣y∣∣x = \frac{y}{1 - ||y||}, so that the mapping is bijective and bicontinuous.

Let Rn∗\mathbf{R}_n^* denote the complement of oo in Rn\mathbf{R}^n.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
