General Topology, chapter IX, § 3. Metrizable groups, valued fields, normed spaces and algebras

Let G,G′,G′′G, G', G'' be three metrizable abelian topological groups and let u:G→G′u : G \to G' and v:G′→G′′v : G' \to G'' be two strict morphisms such that the sequence G→uG′→vG′′G \xrightarrow{u} G' \xrightarrow{v} G'' is exact [i.e., u(G)=v‾(0)u(G) = \overline{v}(0)]. Then the sequence G^→u^G^′→v^G^′′\hat{G} \xrightarrow{\hat{u}} \hat{G}' \xrightarrow{\hat{v}} \hat{G}'' is exact.

For if we put N=u(G)=v‾(0)N = u(G) = \overline{v}(0), it follows from Corollary 2 that N^\hat{N} is both the image of u^\hat{u} and the kernel of v^\hat{v}.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
