General Topology, chapter X, § 1. The uniformity of $\mathscr{G}$-convergence

The uniformity on the set F(X;Y)\mathscr{F}(X; Y) which has as a fundamental system of entourages the set of subsets W(V)W(V), where VV runs through the set of entourages of YY, is called the uniformity of uniform convergence. The topology it induces is called the topology of uniform convergence. If a filter Φ\Phi on F(X;Y)\mathscr{F}(X; Y) converges to an element u0u_0 with respect to this topology, Φ\Phi is said to converge uniformly to u0u_0.

Note that the topology of uniform convergence on F(X;Y)\mathscr{F}(X; Y) depends on the uniform structure of YY and not merely on the topology of YY (Exercise 4).

The uniform space obtained by endowing F(X;Y)\mathscr{F}(X; Y) with the uniformity of uniform convergence is denoted by Fu(X;Y)\mathscr{F}_u(X; Y).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
