General Topology, chapter X, § 1. The uniformity of $\mathscr{G}$-convergence
Let X, L be two sets filtered by filters respectively, and let Y be a complete uniform space. For each , let be a mapping of X into Y. Suppose that (i) the family converges uniformly in X (with respect to the filter ) to a mapping ; (ii) for each , has a limit with respect to the filter . Under these conditions, v has a limit with respect to , and every limit of v with respect to is a limit of the family with respect to .
For v lies in the closure of the set of the in , and therefore is a Cauchy filter base on Y by virtue of Proposition 8; this shows that v has a limit y with respect to because Y is complete. Let
X' = X \cup \{ \omega \} be the topological space associated with the filter (Chapter I, § 6, no. 5), and extend (resp. ) to a mapping (resp. ) of into by putting [resp. ]. Then the mappings are continuous on , and converges uniformly in to with respect to ; since is dense in , the Corollary to Proposition 6 shows that converges uniformly in to , and in particular that .
Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
