General Topology, chapter X, § 2. Equicontinuous sets

Let XX be a locally compact space, YY a Hausdorff uniform space, HH a subset of C(X;Y)C(X; Y). Then HH is relatively compact in Cc(X;Y)C_c(X; Y) if and only if HH is equicontinuous and H(x)H(x) relatively compact in YY for all x∈Xx \in X.

In view of Corollary 1 it is enough to show that, if HH is relatively compact in Cc(X;Y)C_c(X; Y), then HH is equicontinuous. Now each point x∈Xx \in X has a compact neighbourhood AA, and it follows from Theorem 2 that H/AH/A is equicontinuous; this implies that HH is equicontinuous at xx, and the result is proved.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
