General Topology, chapter X, § 3. Special function spaces

Let XX be a uniform space and let HH be an equicontinuous set of homeomorphisms of XX onto itself. If HH and H−1H^{-1} are endowed with the topology of pointwise convergence in XX, then the mapping u→u−1u \to u^{-1} of H−1H^{-1} onto HH is continuous.

It is enough to show that, for each x0∈Xx_0 \in X, the mapping u→u−1(x0)u \to u^{-1}(x_0) of H−1H^{-1} into XX is continuous at every point u0∈H−1u_0 \in H^{-1}. Let VV be a symmetric entourage of XX, and let y0=u0−1(x0)y_0 = u_0^{-1}(x_0). By hypothesis there is a symmetric entourage UU of XX such that the relation (x,x0)∈U(x, x_0) \in U implies (u−1(x),u−1(x0))∈V(u^{-1}(x), u^{-1}(x_0)) \in V for all u∈H−1u \in H^{-1}. Take an element u∈H−1u \in H^{-1} which is W({y0},U)W(\{y_0\}, U)-close to u0u_0; then we have (u(y0),u0(y0))∈U(u(y_0), u_0(y_0)) \in U, i.e. (u(y0),x0)∈U(u(y_0), x_0) \in U. It follows that (y0,u−1(x0))∈V(y_0, u^{-1}(x_0)) \in V, i.e. (u0−1(x0),u−1(x0))∈V(u_0^{-1}(x_0), u^{-1}(x_0)) \in V; this completes the proof.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
