Commutative Algebra, chapter X, § 9. Modules dualisants

If MM is Macaulay, then Ext⁡Ai(M,Ω)=0\operatorname{Ext}_A^i(M, \Omega) = 0 for i≠ci \neq c; the AA-module Ext⁡Ac(M,Ω)\operatorname{Ext}_A^c(M, \Omega) is Macaulay, and its support is equal to that of MM.

The first assertion follows from Prop. 3, a) and c). Let p∈Supp⁡(M)p \in \operatorname{Supp}(M); by Prop. 1 of § 2, No. 1, applied to MM and to AA, we have

dim⁡(Ap)−dim⁡Ap(Mp)=dim⁡(A)−dim⁡A(M)=c; \dim(A_p) - \dim_{A_p}(M_p) = \dim(A) - \dim_A(M) = c ;

since the ApA_p-module Ωp\Omega_p is dualizing (Prop. 2), it follows from Prop. 3, b) that the ApA_p-module Ext⁡Ac(Mp,Ωp)\operatorname{Ext}_A^c(M_p, \Omega_p) is not zero. Hence the support of Ext⁡Ac(M,Ω)\operatorname{Ext}_A^c(M, \Omega) is equal to that of MM.

Finally, let us prove, by induction on dim⁡(M)\dim(M), that the AA-module Ext⁡Ac(M,Ω)\operatorname{Ext}_A^c(M, \Omega) is Macaulay. The assertion is true when dim⁡(M)=0\dim(M) = 0, since every module of finite length is Macaulay. Suppose dim⁡(M)>0\dim(M) > 0 and choose an element xx of mA\mathfrak{m}_A such that the homothety xMx_M is injective. The AA-module M/xMM/xM is Macaulay (§2§ 2, No. 3, Prop. 4), of dimension dim⁡(M)−1\dim(M) - 1. In view of the foregoing, the exact sequence of extension modules associated with the exact sequence 0→M→xM⟶M/xM→00 \to M \xrightarrow{x} M \longrightarrow M/xM \to 0 reduces to

0→Ext⁡Ac(M,Ω)→xExt⁡Ac(M,Ω)⟶Ext⁡Ac+1(M/xM,Ω)→0; 0 \to \operatorname{Ext}_A^c(M, \Omega) \xrightarrow{x} \operatorname{Ext}_A^c(M, \Omega) \longrightarrow \operatorname{Ext}_A^{c+1}(M/xM, \Omega) \to 0 ;

Prop. 4 of § 2, No. 3 and the induction hypothesis then imply that Ext⁡Ac(M,Ω)\operatorname{Ext}_A^c(M, \Omega) is Macaulay, whence the corollary.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
