Commutative Algebra, chapter X, § 9. Modules dualisants

Let AA be a noetherian ring, MM and NN finitely generated AA-modules, u:M→Nu : M \to N a homomorphism. Let xx be an element of the radical of AA, such that the homothety xNx_N is injective. If the homomorphism u‾:M/xM→N/xN\overline{u} : M/xM \to N/xN induced by uu is injective (resp. surjective, resp. bijective), the same is true of uu.

The assertion concerning the surjectivity of uu results from Nakayama's lemma (II, § 3, No. 2, cor. 1 of prop. 4), without any assumption on xNx_N. Consider the commutative diagram with exact rows

M→xMM⟶M/xM↓u↓u↓u‾0⟶N→xNN⟶N/xN; \begin{array}{ccccccc} M & \xrightarrow{x_M} & M & \longrightarrow & M/xM \\ \downarrow u & & \downarrow u & & \downarrow \overline{u} \\ 0 & \longrightarrow & N & \xrightarrow{x_N} & N & \longrightarrow & N/xN ; \end{array}

by means of the snake lemma (I, § 1, No. 4, prop. 2), one deduces from it an exact sequence Ker u→xKer u⟶Ker u‾\mathrm{Ker}\, u \xrightarrow{x} \mathrm{Ker}\, u \longrightarrow \mathrm{Ker}\, \overline{u}. If u‾\overline{u} is injective, the homothety with ratio xx is surjective in Ker u\mathrm{Ker}\, u, which implies Ker u=0\mathrm{Ker}\, u = 0 by Nakayama's lemma.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
