Algebra, VIII, p. 141, § 8. Semisimple Rings
a) For every is a finite-dimensional right vector space over the field . When passing to the quotient, the mapping defines a ring isomorphism from to End.
b) For every , the ring is simple, and the canonical homomorphism from A to is a ring isomorphism.
The ring is isomorphic to . By Lemma 1 of VIII, p. 139, this ring is simple. The given mapping from to End can be identified with the mapping from to . By Proposition 5 of VIII, p. 139, it is an isomorphism.
The A-module is semisimple, faithful, and balanced. The homomorphism can be identified with the morphism from the bicommutant of to End, which is an isomorphism (VIII, p. 86, Proposition 7, c)).
The simple ring is called the simple factor of A of type .
Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
