Algebra, VIII, p. 162, § 9. Radical

Suppose that the ring A is without radical. By Proposition 9, (P,u)(P, u) is a projective cover of an A-module M if and only if uu is an isomorphism. Hence, projective covers can only exist for projective A-modules.

The ring Z\mathbf{Z} is without radical (VIII, p. 154, Example 3). Let n⩾2n\geqslant 2 be an integer. The Z\mathbf{Z}-module Z/nZ\mathbf{Z}/n\mathbf{Z} is not projective and therefore does not admit a projective cover.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
