Algebra, VIII, p. 454, Appendix 2. Determinants over a Noncommutative Field

Let DoD^o be the opposite field of D. The mapping A↦tAA\mapsto^tA from Mn(D)\mathbf{M}_n(D) to Mn(Do)\mathbf{M}_n(D^o) satisfies t(^t(AB)=tBtA) =^tB^tA. Therefore, for every matrix A in GLn\mathbf{G}\mathbf{L}_n(D), the transposed matrix tA^tA is invertible in Mn(Do)\mathbf{M}_n(D^o), but it is not necessarily invertible in Mn(D)\mathbf{M}_n(D). It follows from Example 3 that if A belongs to GLn\mathbf{G}\mathbf{L}_n(D), then the elements A of GLn(D)\mathbf{G}\mathbf{L}_n(D) and tA^tA of GLn(Do)\mathbf{G}\mathbf{L}_n(D^o) have the same determinant. On the other hand, even if the matrix tA^tA belongs to GLn\mathbf{G}\mathbf{L}_n(D), its determinant in GLn(D)_n(D) is not necessarily equal to that of A (cf. Example 6).

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
