Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter VII, § 2. Cartan subalgebras and regular elements of a Lie algebra

Let g\mathfrak{g} be a Lie algebra, h\mathfrak{h} a Cartan subalgebra of g\mathfrak{g}, and a\mathfrak{a} a subalgebra of g\mathfrak{g} containing h\mathfrak{h}.

(i) a\mathfrak{a} is equal to its own normalizer in g\mathfrak{g}.

(ii) Assume that k=Rk=\mathbf{R} or C\mathbf{C}; let G be a Lie group with Lie algebra g\mathfrak{g}, A the integral subgroup of G with Lie algebra a\mathfrak{a}. Then A is a Lie subgroup of G, and it is the identity component of the normalizer of A in G.

Let n\mathfrak{n} be the normalizer of a\mathfrak{a} in g\mathfrak{g}. Since h\mathfrak{h} is a Cartan subalgebra of n\mathfrak{n} (Example 33),{0},\{0\} is a Cartan subalgebra of n/a\mathfrak{n}/\mathfrak{a} (Cor. 2), hence is equal to its normalizer in n/a\mathfrak{n}/\mathfrak{a}; in other words, n=a\mathfrak{n}=\mathfrak{a}. Assertion (ii) follows from (i) and Chap. III, §9, no. 4, Cor. of Prop. 11.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
