Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter IX, § 5. Conjugacy classes

By Prop. 3 of §2, no. 4, the manifold (G/T)×A(G/T)\times A is simply-connected. It follows that φA\varphi_A is a universal covering of GrG_r; since π1(Gr)\pi_1(G_r) is canonically isomorphic to π1(G)\pi_1(G) (no. 1, Prop. 1 and General Topology, Chap. XI, in preparation), we recover the fact that π1(G)\pi_1(G) can be identified with HAH_A (that is with Γ(T)/N(G,T)\Gamma (T)/N(G,T)).

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
