Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter IX, § 7. Irreducible representations of connected compact Lie groups

Let Θ(G)\Theta (G) be the algebra of continuous representative functions on G with values in C(\mathbf{C}(Algebra, Chap. VIII). Let G operate on Θ(G)\Theta (G) by left and right translations. For each λ∈X++\lambda \in X_{++}, let (Vλ,τλ)(V_{\lambda}, \tau_{\lambda}) be an irreducible representation of G of highest weight λ\lambda (Th. 1), and (Vλ∗,τˇλ)(V^*_{\lambda},\check{\tau}_{\lambda}) the contragredient representation (Chap. III, §3, no. 11); by Spectral Theories, the representation of G×GG\times G on Θ(G)\Theta (G) is isomorphic to the direct sum of the representations (Vλ⊗Vλ∗,τλ⊗τˇλ)(V_{\lambda}\otimes V^*_{\lambda}, \tau_{\lambda}\otimes \check{\tau}_{\lambda}) for all λ\lambda in X++X_{++}. Remark 1 now implies the following statement: Let λ∈X++\lambda \in X_{++}, and let EλE_{\lambda} be the vector subspace of Θ(G)\Theta (G) consisting of the continuous representative functions ff on G such that f(gt)=λ(t)−1f(g)f(gt) =\lambda (t)^{-1}f(g) for all g∈Gg\in G and all t∈Tt\in T, and such that f∗x=0f*x= 0 for all x∈n−=⨁α<0gαx\in \mathfrak{n}_-=\bigoplus_{\alpha <0}\mathfrak{g}^{\alpha}.

Then EλE_{\lambda} is stable under left translations, and the representation of G on EλE_{\lambda} by left translations is irreducible of highest weight λ\lambda.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
