Commutative Algebra, chapter V, § 2. The lift of prime ideals

Let AA be an integrally closed domain, KK its field of fractions, KK a Galois extension of KK, A′A' the integral closure of AA in K′K', p′\mathfrak{p}' a prime ideal of AA, p=A∩p′\mathfrak{p} = A \cap \mathfrak{p}' and kk and k′k' the fields of fractions of A/pA/\mathfrak{p} and A′/p′A'/\mathfrak{p}' respectively. Then:

(i) The field of fractions of AZ/(p′∩AZ)A^{\mathbf{Z}}/(\mathfrak{p}' \cap A^{\mathbf{Z}}) is equal to kk and the maximal ideal of the local ring of AZA^{\mathbf{Z}} relative to p′∩AZ\mathfrak{p}' \cap A^{\mathbf{Z}} is generated by p\mathfrak{p}.

(ii) The field of fractions kTk^T of AT/(p′∩AT)A^T/(\mathfrak{p}' \cap A^T) is the greatest separable extension of kk contained in k′k'.

The ring AA is the ring of invariants in A′A' of the Galois group of K′K' over KK; if K′K' is of finite degree over KK, the corollary then follows from Propositions 4 and 5 of no. 2. Consider now the general case, K′K' therefore being the union of a right directed set (Ki)(K_i) of finite Galois extensions of KK. Then:

(i) If x,yx, y are two elements of AZA^{\mathbf{Z}}, where y∉p′y \notin \mathfrak{p}', there is an index α\alpha such that xx and yy belong to AZ(p′∩Kα)A^{\mathbf{Z}}(\mathfrak{p}' \cap K_{\alpha}) (Remark 2); by Proposition 4 of no. 2, there are x0,y0x_0, y_0 in AA with y0∉p′y_0 \notin \mathfrak{p}' such that xy0−x0y∈p′xy_0 - x_0y \in \mathfrak{p}', which proves the first assertion of (i); if further x∈p′x \in \mathfrak{p}', we may assume that y0y_0 satisfies

xy0∈pAZ(p′∩Kα)⊂pAZ(p′), xy_0 \in \mathfrak{p}A^{\mathbf{Z}}(\mathfrak{p}' \cap K_{\alpha}) \subset \mathfrak{p}A^{\mathbf{Z}}(\mathfrak{p}'),
which proves the second assertion of (i).

(ii) Suppose now that x∈ATx \in A^T; there exists α\alpha such that x∈AT(p′∩Kα)x \in A^T(p' \cap K_\alpha) (Remark 2) and Proposition 5 of no. 2 shows that the class xˉ\bar{x} of xmod  .(p′∩Kα∩AT)x \mod.(p' \cap K_\alpha \cap A^T) is algebraic and separable over kk; a fortiori the class mod  .(p′∩AT)\mod.(p' \cap A^T) of xx is separable over kk; to complete the proof of the corollary, it is sufficient to show that k′k' is a radicial extension of kTk^T. Now, k′k' is the union of the right directed family of fields of fractions kαk_\alpha of the rings (A′∩Kα)/(p′∩Kα)(A' \cap K_\alpha)/(p' \cap K_\alpha). It follows therefore from Proposition 5 that, if an element of k′k' belongs to kk, it is radicial over the field of fractions of

AT(p′∩Kα)/(p′∩AT(p′∩Kα)) A^T(p' \cap K_\alpha)/(p' \cap A^T(p' \cap K_\alpha))

and a fortiori over kTk^T (by virtue of Remark 2).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
