Commutative Algebra, chapter VI, § 9. Application: locally compact fields

Let K′K' be a locally compact field and KK a closed subfield of K′K' (neither necessarily commutative). If K′K' is a left (resp. right) vector space of finite dimension nn over KK, then (2)

mod⁡K′(x)=(mod⁡K(x))nfor all x∈K. \operatorname{mod}_{K'}(x) = (\operatorname{mod}_K(x))^n \quad \text{for all } x \in K.

In general it is known that in a (left or right) vector space of finite dimension nn over KK, the homothety with ratio x∈Kx \in K has modulus equal to (modK(x))n(\mathrm{mod}_K(x))^n; it suffices to apply this to K′K'.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
