Algebra, chapter I, § 4. Groups and groups with operators

Let GG be a group with operators in which there exists a Jordan-Hölder series. If Σ\Sigma is any strictly decreasing composition series of GG, there exists a Jordan-Hölder series finer than Σ\Sigma.

Let Σ0\Sigma_0 be a Jordan-Hölder series of GG; by Theorem 5, there exist two equivalent composition series, Σ′\Sigma' and Σ0′\Sigma'_0 respectively finer than Σ\Sigma and Σ0\Sigma_0; the argument of Theorem 6 shows that, by suppressing from Σ′\Sigma' the repetitions, a sequence Σ′′\Sigma'' is obtained which is equivalent to Σ0\Sigma_0 and hence a Jordan-Hölder series, since all its quotients are simple (Proposition 9). As Σ\Sigma is strictly decreasing, Σ′′\Sigma'' is finer than Σ\Sigma, whence the corollary.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
