Algebra, chapter II, § 3. Tensor products

Given two exact sequences (14) and (16), the homomorphism v \otimes t : E \otimesA F \to E'' \otimes_A F'' is surjective and its kernel is equal to*

Im⁡(u⊗1F)+Im⁡(lE⊗s) \operatorname{Im}(u \otimes 1_F) + \operatorname{Im}(l_E \otimes s)

Now v⊗t=(v⊗1F′′)∘(1E⊗t)v \otimes t = (v \otimes 1_{F''}) \circ (1_E \otimes t) (no. 2, formula (5)) and v⊗tv \otimes t is therefore surjective, being the composition of two surjective homomorphisms by virtue of Proposition 5 and its Corollary. On the other hand, for z∈E⊗Fz \in E \otimes F to be in the kernel of v⊗tv \otimes t, it is necessary and sufficient that (1E⊗t)(z)(1_E \otimes t)(z) belong to the kernel of v⊗1F′′v \otimes 1_{F''}, that is, by virtue of (15) to the image of

u⊗1F′′:E′⊗F′′→E⊗F′′. u \otimes 1_{F''}: E' \otimes F'' \to E \otimes F''.

But as the homomorphism t:F→F′′t: F \to F'' is surjective, so is

1E′⊗t:E′⊗F→E′⊗F′′ 1_{E'} \otimes t: E' \otimes F \to E' \otimes F''

by the Corollary to Proposition 5, hence the condition on zz reduces to the existence of an a∈E′⊗Fa \in E' \otimes F such that

(lE⊗t)(z)=(u⊗t)(a). (l_E \otimes t)(z) = (u \otimes t)(a).

Let b=z−(u⊗1F)(a)b = z - (u \otimes 1_F)(a); then (lE⊗t)(b)=0(l_E \otimes t)(b) = 0, and by virtue of (17), bb belongs to the image of lE⊗sl_E \otimes s, which proves the proposition.

In other words:

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
