Algebra, chapter II, § 8. Restriction of the field ofscalars in vector spaces

For a K\mathbf{K}-linear mapping f:V1→V2f : V_1 \to V_2 to be rational over K′\mathbf{K}', it is necessary and sufficient that its graph Γ\Gamma be rational over K′\mathbf{K}' for the product K′\mathbf{K}'-structure on V1×V2V_1 \times V_2.

Let gg be the mapping x1↦(x1,f(x1))x_1 \mapsto (x_1, f(x_1)) from V1V_1 to V1×V2V_1 \times V_2; this is a K\mathbf{K}-linear mapping such that Γ=g(V1)\Gamma = g(V_1); if ff is rational over K′\mathbf{K}', so is Γ\Gamma by virtue of Corollary 2 to Proposition 3. Conversely, suppose that Γ\Gamma is rational over K′\mathbf{K}' and let it have the K′\mathbf{K}'-structure induced by that on V1×V2V_1 \times V_2; it follows immediately from the definitions that the restrictions p1,p2p_1, p_2 to Γ\Gamma of the projections pr1,pr2\mathrm{pr}_1, \mathrm{pr}_2, are K\mathbf{K}-linear mappings, rational over K′\mathbf{K}' of Γ\Gamma into V1V_1 and V2V_2 respectively. As p1p_1 is bijective, its inverse mapping q1q_1 is rational over K′\mathbf{K}' (Corollary 1 to Proposition 3) and hence so is f=p2∘q1f = p_2 \circ q_1.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
