Algebra, chapter II, § 9. Affine spaces and projective spaces

For a non-empty family (ai)i∈I(a_i)_{i \in I} of points of an affine space EE to be affinely free, it is necessary and sufficient that, for every index κ∈I\kappa \in I, aκa_\kappa do not belong to the linear variety generated by the aia_i of index ≠κ\neq \kappa.

The proposition is obvious if II has only a single element. Otherwise, taking as origin in EE one of the aia_i of index ≠κ\neq \kappa, the proposition follows from § 7, no. 1, Remark.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
