Algebra, chapter IV, § 1. Polynomials

Let a=(ai)i∈Ia = (a_i)_{i \in I}, be a family of elements of AA and let u∈A[X]u \in A[X]. If vv is the polynomial obtained by substituting Xi+aiX_i + a_i for XiX_i for each i∈Ii \in I, then the constant term of vv is equal to u(a)u(a).

The constant term of vv is obtained by substituting 0 for XiX_i in vv for each i∈Ii \in I. The result therefore follows by (2).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
