Algebra, chapter IV, § 1. Polynomials

Let X=(Xi)i∈IX = (X_i)_{i \in I} and Y=(Yi)i∈IY = (Y_i)_{i \in I} be two families of indeterminates. The set of polynomials u∈A[X,Y]u \in A[X,Y] such that u(X,X)=0u(X,X) = 0 is the ideal of A[X,Y]A[X,Y] generated by the polynomials Xi−YiX_i - Y_i (for i∈Ii \in I).

This corollary results directly from Cor. 1 on replacing AA by A[Y]A[Y] and aia_i by YiY_i, interpreting A[X,Y]A[X,Y] as polynomial ring in the XiX_i with coefficients in A[Y]A[Y].

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
