Algebra, chapter IV, § 4. Formal power series

— Let A be a continuous derivation of the A-algebra E. For every formal power series u∈A[[I]]u \in \mathbf{A}[[\mathbf{I}]] the family ((Diu)(x)⋅Δxi)i∈I((D_iu)(x) \cdot \Delta x_i)_{i \in I} is summable and we have

Δ(u(x))=∑i∈I(Diu)(x)⋅Δxi. \Delta(u(x)) = \sum_{i \in I} (D_iu)(x) \cdot \Delta x_i .

This follows from Prop. 7 because the mapping u↦Δ(u(x))u \mapsto \Delta(u(x)) is a continuous derivation of A[[I]]\mathbf{A}[[\mathbf{I}]] into the A[[I]]\mathbf{A}[[\mathbf{I}]]-module E.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
