Algebra, V, p. 23, § 4. Algebraically closed extensions

Let K be a field and Ω\Omega an algebraic closure of KK. Then the following construction may be given for a splitting extension for a family (fi)i∈I(f_i)_{i \in I} of non-constant polynomials in K[X]K[X]: let RiR_i be the set of roots of fif_i in Ω\Omega and let R=⋃i∈IRiR = \bigcup_{i \in I} R_i. Then K(R)K(R) is the unique subextension of Ω\Omega which is a splitting extension for (fi)i∈I(f_i)_{i \in I} (V, p. 22, Prop. 5).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
