Algebra, V, p. 98, § 13. p-radical extensions of height _ 1

Let KK be a field and LL a pp-radical extension of height ≤1\leq 1 of KK. A family (xi)i∈I(x_i)_{i \in I} of elements of LL is said to be pp-free over KK (resp. a pp-basis of LL over KK) if xi∉Kx_i \notin K for all i∈Ii \in I and the homomorphism of ⨂i∈IK(xi)\bigotimes_{i \in I} K(x_i) into LL derived from the canonical injections ui:K(xi)→Lu_i : K(x_i) \to L is injective (resp. bijective).

If aa is an element of L−KL - K, it is pp-radical of height 1, and so its minimal polynomial over KK is Xp−apX^p - a^p (VV, p. 24, Prop. 1); therefore {1,a,…,ap−1}\{1, a, \ldots, a^{p-1}\} is a basis of K(a)K(a) over KK. Let (xi)i∈I(x_i)_{i \in I} be a family of elements of L−KL - K and AA the subset of N(I)\mathbf{N}^{(I)} consisting of all families of finite support a=(αi)i∈Ia = (\alpha_i)_{i \in I}, such that αi<p\alpha_i < p for all i∈Ii \in I; Prop. 9 (III, p. 471) shows that the elements ⨂i∈Ixiαi\bigotimes_{i \in I} x_i^{\alpha_i} as aa runs over AA form a basis of the vector space ⨂i∈IK(xi)\bigotimes_{i \in I} K(x_i) over KK. Moreover, the canonical homomorphism of ⨂i∈IK(xi)\bigotimes_{i \in I} K(x_i) into LL has as image K(xi)i∈IK(x_i)_{i \in I} (VV, p. 18, Cor. 1), we thus have the following proposition:

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
